A one-hour dialogue took place between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and students from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
Attended by about 500 students, the dialogue was based on three themes — the role and relevance of a university degree, the future of work and employment as well as the future of Singapore.
A student, who set up a startup business, asked whether Singapore’s society and culture allows Singaporeans to fail. He also asked what universities can do to help students develop a greater sense of grit and dare to take the plunge.
PM Lee shared that there should not be any shame if a young entrepreneur happens to fail and urged young people to stay motivated in order to achieve their goals.
